Black Lives Matter
We stand against white supremacy.
We stand against racial injustice.
We stand against police brutality.
Tight Crew would like to acknowledge and address the events that have unfolded over this past week. We have been watching in shock and outrage. As leaders in our community, we intentionally took our time to gather our thoughts and resources before making a public statement. We recognize our influence is a privilege, and take pride in influencing with integrity.
On Monday, May 25th, 2020, George Floyd was murdered by the Minneapolis Police Department. First and foremost, we want to express our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and community. Our love and thoughts are with you.
We demand justice for the murder of George Floyd. We demand that the four police officers in Minneapolis are held accountable for their actions. We demand a change to our flawed justice and political systems – systems that, for too long, have perpetuated the atrocities of police brutality against people of color in this country. This cannot continue. Now is the time to say “ENOUGH. BLACK LIVES MATTER”.
Racial inequality and injustice is a stain that has permeated this nation since it’s colonization. Over the last nine days, we have witnessed acts of police brutality against peaceful protesters practicing their constitutional rights. This is just the latest in a long tradition of white supremacy in this country that needs to end.
Tight crew, as a community-based in love and support, we implore you to join us in making sure the world has a little more Peace, Love, Unity, and above all, Respect for the black community. We are proud of you for protesting, educating, voting, spreading awareness – contributing however you can. We see you, every single one of you, doing your best to help better the world we live in. Please, please, take that love and strength and spread it. Let your voices continue to be heard. We all have a part to play in this and we hope you will join us in this fight. Together let's help reform our world into one we can be proud of – for everyone.
